Care Homes
Care homes are eminently well suited to LoadTracker CHP. Heavy laundry burdens, frequent washing and residential catering all make for a high, steady DHW demand throughout the day. LoadTracker CHP can therefore put in long periods of operation, with back-up gas boiler activity kept to a minimum.
Care home residents have a marked need for warmth, which means that the heating season is longer than for normal housing patterns. This is a further factor in favour of sustained operation.
Consultants providing advice to the care home sector have to work within BREEAM guidelines for CO2 reduction. LoadTracker CHP is a strong contributor to this objective. During the previous 12 months, SAV-Systems have carried out assessments on 22 care home projects, all of which have shown good potential for LoadTracker CHP. CO2 reductions of between 9 – 24% have been projected, based on load data submitted by clients.
It is usual for care home specifications to be demanding when it comes to noise emissions. LoadTracker CHP raises no concerns in this regard, as it emits just 49dB(A) at 1 metre, about the level of one-to-one conversation.
