Key Benefits - FloCon™

Key benefits of the FloCon™ Commissioning Module system include:

Faster, cheaper installation with centralisation of commissioning valves and terminal branches that flush, vent and back-flush centrally. Meets requirements of BSRIA’s Pre-Commissioning Cleaning Guide

Great flexibility in Building Design with fewer access points, minimal space requirement around terminals, simplified pipe sizing and easier routing

Optimum flow control. Flow balance holds when changes occur elsewhere and there is no need for upstream balancing valves. Simplified balancing of flows between sub-circuits and entrapment of air is no longer a problem as the SAV FloCon™ Commissioning Module incorporates its own air bleed and flushing valves, which vent as each line in the system is filled.

Simpler, less frequent maintenance. Each FloCon™ Commissioning Module incorporates a large strainer with ball valve isolation, which protects the entire system from scale and debris in the pipe work so dirt cannot enter (and block) the terminal branches Commissioning valves are grouped and a single person can balance flows. Easy to remove units for repair or add new terminals to the system

Change and Churn The exterior may be set is stone - or glass - but inside the life of a building evolves to meet changing needs.

In the 21st Century the pace of change has accelerated. Office accommodation is constantly, replanned and rearranged for incoming tenants, or simply to adapt to internal team restructuring. Hotel rooms are added, enlarged and upgraded... and so it goes on.

Services must be equally adaptable and that's no easy task with long lines of rigid distribution pipework and large dedicated pressure control equipment.

SAV's modular concept has been purpose designed around smaller, self-contained systems – with centralized valves and interconnected with flexible pipework.

It's so much easier to expand, reconfigure and even relocate.

Variable Volume Pumping Systems: The drive for energy efficiency means that many modern designers opt for modulating pumps. By breaking the system down into self-contained groups each served by a local Differential Pressure Control Valve (DPCV) located in individual FloCon™ Commissioning Modules, energy saving can be combined with reduced capital cost and improved valve authority.

The old problem of trapped air is also solved. Every SAV FloCon™ Commissioning Module incorporates its own air bleed valve, which vents air as each line is filled under system pressure.
